2020 Panamera Interior

Every Panamera's cabin is a lavish place to be, with a sleek design and leather upholstery as standard. Touch-sensitive controls dominate the center console, although these can be tricky to operate without averting your gaze from the road. A 12.3-inch touchscreen handles infotainment and luxuries like heated front seats are standard. As usual, the build quality is exemplary and the general ambiance is one of high-quality luxury, while a chunky steering wheel adds sporty character to the driver's side of the cockpit. Naturally, everything can be upgraded. From leather air vents to massaging seats, your checkbook is the limit.

Seating and Interior Space

The Panamera is a compromised vehicle in principle, yet it does not compromise on comfort for occupants. This car offers four individual buckets instead of a cramped three-abreast bench in the back, although that is available as an option. The result is that even tall individuals feel at ease and have plenty of headroom and legroom, traits that are further enhanced if you opt for an Executive model with its longer wheelbase. Getting in and out is not undignified, and even the standard eight-way seats in the front offer enough adjustment. A Porsche relies on its feel as much as its outright performance, and all the chassis engineering in the world wouldn't be enough to fix an awkward driving position that detracts from the overall experience. In a Porsche, that is never the case, and drivers of all sizes can fine-tune the perfect position for a good view and a commanding reach of all controls.

Interior Colors and Materials

Even the base Panamera is beautifully finished with partial leather upholstery in black as standard. Alternatively, you can opt for Agate Grey leather at no charge or a two-tone combo of black and Luxor Beige for $390. Extended leather is available in a wider range of colors, with prices ranging from $3,790 to $4,320. Here you can have Marsala, Saddle Brown, Black/Bordeaux Red, Marsala/Cream, and more. A Club leather option is also available in Cohiba Brown or Truffle Brown for $5,650. High Gloss Black interior trim is also standard on the base model, but you can have various types of wood for anything from $1,000 to $2,460. Carbon fiber is also available for $2,000 or you can have one of two types of brushed aluminum for 1,000 bucks. On the 10 Years Edition models, White Gold stitching is standard on the leather with distinctive logos dotted about and accented by trim elements in the same finish. The racy GTS trim comes with a mix of black leather and Alcantara as standard, with Alcantara on the headliner too. Black brushed aluminum is standard on this model too, but really, the limits are only reached when you become disgusted by how much money you've got to cough up.

2020 Panamera Trunk and Cargo Space

Panamera models with the regular body style are capacious enough, offering 17.6 cubic feet of volume in the trunk, enough space for each occupant to bring a medium suitcase with. Fold the rear seats down and that figure expands to 47.3 cubic feet. If you opt for an Executive model with its longer body, the trunk space remains the same but maximum volume increases to 52.6 cubic feet.

Inside, a center console runs the length of the cabin. This gives rear passengers a pair of small to medium size storage solutions for wallets and phones, while front occupants have a glovebox and a center armrest bin. They also get a pair of cupholders, something that rear occupants only get as standard if they're sitting in the back of an Executive model. Medium-sized door pockets help with overflow items.

2020 Panamera Infotainment and Features

Features

The spec sheet of standard and optional features on the Panamera is rather extensive, with all models getting adaptive dampers, a panoramic roof, rain-sensing wipers, heated mirrors, an automatic rear hatch, LED cornering lights, and front and rear parking sensors. The base model also has a two-way adaptive rear spoiler, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, keyless ignition, and eight-way heated front seats. 10 Years Edition models add adaptive air suspension, LED Matrix adaptive headlights, quad-zone climate control, 14-way power-adjustable front seats, a surround-view camera, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, and soft-close doors. The Executive variants get heated rear seats as standard, while the top GTS variant benefits from the Sport Chrono package with a steering-mounted drive mode selector and launch control, as well as, a four-way adaptive rear spoiler, adaptive LED headlights, and 18-way adaptive front seats. Various options are available throughout the range, with even the base variant having access to things like adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, a night vision camera, predictive cruise control, a head-up display, ambient lighting, massaging and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, power sunshades, and a cabin ionizer.

Infotainment

All Panamera iterations are equipped with a gorgeous 12.3-inch touchscreen display for infotainment duties, but it's unfortunately not quite as intuitive as we'd like. Nevertheless, it displays high quality images and it's well supported as it features navigation, Bluetooth and USB compatibility, aux input, a WiFi hotspot, voice control, and Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is not offered and neither is wireless charging, but at least SiriusXM satellite radio and HD Radio are played through 10 speakers. A Bose 14-speaker upgrade is available, but the richest tones come from the available Burmester surround sound system with 21 speakers. A rear-seat entertainment system is also available and features a pair of 10-inch touchscreens with wireless Bluetooth headphones.
