The 4 is essentially the same car as the Base, but with the additional benefit of AWD. The additional traction makes it slightly faster to 60 mph, yet a bit slower at the top end. Adding AWD to the package has no impact on the fuel consumption but it does push up the curb weight by 79 pounds and reduces the maximum load capacity by 201 pounds. There’s no reason to opt for this model unless you live in a cold-weather state that demands all the traction you can get. As on every other Panamera, you’ll have to cough up a lot of extra money if you want features like ventilated front seats and adaptive cruise control.
