There are three fundamentally similar trims for buyers to choose from in the 2019 Smart EQ Fortwo lineup. A rear-mounted 60 kW electric motor powers the rear wheels of every model, with a single-speed direct-drive transmission servicing them all. Every model is fitted with halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, rear fog lights, and - on the Prime only - LED front foglights. While the Pure rides on 15-inch steel wheels fitted with plastic hub caps, the Passion and Prime get 15-inch Y-spoke light-alloy wheels, with 16-inch eight-Y-spoke wheels optional. The standard features list throughout the lineup is relatively spartan, the Pure starting things off with features such as power doors and windows, a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel that’s neither tilt nor telescoping, air conditioning with automatic climate control, and a flat-folding passenger seat. From there, the Passion adds on with only a few necessities, such as a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and the Prime with a few more luxuries, including heated seats.
