The entry-level Subaru Crosstrek is worth considering since the no-frills treatment and appealing price tag are in keeping with this crossover’s positioning. It’s the only one to get the more basic infotainment system, and it’s stuck with the rather gutless 2.0-liter engine. But AWD is standard, so it has most of the off-road capabilities of the rest. Dual-zone climate control keeps the cabin comfortable, the seats are finished in durable cloth, and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Keyless entry, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a rearview camera, keyless entry, and a pre-collision warning system are all standard.
