Crash-test safety ratings haven't taken place for the 2024 model yet, but the new Crosstrek is built on an updated version of the same platform as the outgoing model. The previous Crosstrek achieved a five-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA and mostly good ratings from the IIHS, but it was rated poorly for the latter agency's updated side crash test. Based on these results, and provided Subaru improves the side crash integrity, there should be no safety concerns for the new Subaru Crosstrek.
NHTSA safety ratings are not available at this time.
Every new Crosstrek comes with the EyeSight driver-assist suite as standard. This system assesses traffic around the vehicle and can warn the driver when they wander outside their line. It also includes automatic pre-collision braking, while automatic emergency steering is a new feature for the 2024 model year that also works to help the driver avoid a collision at speeds of under 50 mph.
Blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert are available for the Premium and Sport, but standard on the Limited. The top trim also comes with reverse automatic braking. However, some customers may have wished to see high-tech items like a head-up display and a surround-view camera system, but only a rearview camera is standard.
The Crosstrek comes with the usual array of airbags and tire pressure monitoring as well.

The Subaru Crosstrek's reliability should be very good, as it shares the same fundamental platform and engines with the outgoing model. The 2023 version has an 83 out of 100 rating from J.D. Power, including a quality/reliability score of 81/100. The non-hybrid versions of the outgoing model have no recalls to their name from 2020 - 2023, another indicator of a dependable vehicle.
A limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles is standard for the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, but the powertrain warranty runs for five years or 60,000 miles.
Although official safety ratings for the 2024 Crosstrek aren't available yet, the outgoing version achieved mostly excellent safety scores, and the new one should be even better.
Subaru's EyeSight driver-assistance suite is standard, including a pre-collision system with automatic braking. Other standard and/or available items include steering assistance, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, and rear cross traffic alert.
