The Model X Performance SUV has received a relatively significant design and several tech upgrades for model year 2021. Take notice of new the front end, hood, and, inside, a heavily reworked dashboard layout. There are also new 20- and 22-inch wheel design options.
Inside, there's a new airplane-styling rectangular steering wheel. Gone is the integrated touchscreen, and in is a new 17-inch, horizontally-mounted display screen with improved graphics and navigation.
Performance-wise, however, is what will attract speed enthusiasts. Total output comes to 1,020 hp, while 0-60 mph takes just 2.5 seconds. The quarter-mile is an impressive 9.9 seconds while towing capacity remains 5,000 pounds. Top speed improves to 163 mph from 155 mph. A set of "carbon-sleeved" brake rotors bring the vehicle back to a standstill.
The Model X Long Plaid carries a starting price tag of $113,190.
