As the entry point to the Tacoma range, the SR is equipped in the way of a true workhorse. It is one of only two trims that come standard with the lackluster four-cylinder engine, and it gets 16-inch steel wheels as opposed to alloys. 2WD is default, but 4WD is available, as is the V6 engine in either 2WD or 4WD. The cloth-trimmed seats are fairly comfortable and air-conditioning keeps the cabin cool. A seven-inch touchscreen grants access to full smartphone integration, including Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. A six-speaker sound system plays all the audio, and you even get SiriusXM for extra listening options. Upgrading an SR to the V6 engine equips dual-zone climate control and a tow hitch.
