The VinFast VF 8 is an electric crossover with four trims for 2023: City Edition Eco, Eco, City Edition Plus, and Plus. The City Edition models arrive first in a batch of 999 units, and these have a smaller 82-kWh battery with a maximum range of 207 miles. The normal Eco and Plus variants are almost identical, but a larger 87.7-kWh battery will improve the former's range to 264 miles.
Trim levels aside, all versions have dual electric motors and AWD; no RWD or FWD configurations are offered. Eco models have specifications of 349 hp and 369 lb-ft, while Plus derivatives are more powerful with 402 hp and 457 lb-ft outputs. The performance specs of the more powerful VinFast VF 8 Plus are decent, with a 0-62 mph time of 5.5 seconds.
All models come with LED exterior lighting, power-folding mirrors, and alloy wheels - 19 inches on the Eco and 20 inches on the Plus. There are many standard interior features, highlighted by a 15.6-inch central touchscreen. Customers have access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and various games. Both front seats are heated and power adjustable, with greater adjustment and ventilation on the Plus. The Plus also enjoys heated and ventilated rear seats and two extra speakers for its sound system.
Safety equipment includes a 360-degree surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, front/rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. All models have a suite of 11 airbags.
Since there are so many features baked into the two trims, package upgrades and standalone options are mostly unavailable beyond choosing your preferred colors.
There are no noteworthy packages for the VinFast VF 8 since even the entry-level Eco is already loaded with equipment. Besides choosing your favored interior and exterior colors, the VF Online Plus Package can unlock many features via Wi-Fi, such as the web browser.
