2023 Arteon Safety

At the IIHS, the Volkswagen Arteon stands out as a Top Safety Pick+ award winner for 2022, and it still scores a Good in every single crashworthiness category for 2023. Strangely enough, the NHTSA doesn't have a safety review of the Volkswagen Arteon.

2023 Arteon Key Safety Features

As standard, every model comes with a rearview camera, tire-pressure monitoring, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors, and forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking. A post-collision system is fitted too, along with rain-sensing wipers and the IQ.Drive semi-autonomous hands-on driving system. Also standard are adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and pedestrian detection, while available features include park assist and a surround-view camera. Dual frontal, side-impact, overhead, and knee airbags are included too.

2023 Arteon Reliability

At the time of writing, the 2022-2023 Arteon had not been subject to any recalls yet. The 2021 Arteon was recalled four times, however. Two of these recalls pertained to a faulty rearview camera image, while another related to a pressure input rod on a brake booster that could be loose. Finally, the TPMS was found to possibly misidentify a tire with low air pressure.

As for warranty coverage, Volkswagen includes a limited/powertrain warranty for the first four years or 50,000 miles, as well as complimentary scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 20,000 miles. Roadside assistance is complimentary for three years of 36,000 miles.
