2021 Golf GTI Exterior
From the outside, telling the 2021 Volkswagen Golf GTI hatchback apart from its 2020 predecessor is almost impossible, but the new gloss black mirrors and the gloss black rear spoiler are changes introduced this year. The same adaptive LED headlights and LED taillights are standard. 18-inch wheels, the traditional full-length front GTI stripe, and a faux diffuser all feature. However, the SE and Autobahn trims gain a new design for their wheels. A dual-exit exhaust setup flanks either end of the diffuser, and SE models and above get treated to a large panoramic sunroof.

Dimensions
The GTI's typically compact dimensions are part of the reason it's so loved, with a short wheelbase allowing the car to be easily chucked about. It's also easy to park in the city, with a length of just 168 inches. The wheelbase measures 103.6 inches, with width at a lowly 70.8 inches. Height is 57.8 inches, which makes it lower than a regular Golf TSI by 0.4 inches. The curb weight is 3,133 pounds for the manual and 3,210 lbs for the model equipped with the DSG gearbox.

Exterior Colors
A decent range of colors - six of them - are all no-cost options. On the base S, however, only four exterior colors are offered: Dark Iron Blue Metallic, Deep Black Pearl, Pure White, and Tornado Red. The mid-range SE and range-topping Autobahn add White Silver Metallic and Cornflower Blue. Fans of older GTI generations will be happy to know that the classic Tornado Red hasn't gone anywhere, a color that is as synonymous with the GTI as gray with black stripes are to the '67 Mustang GT500.
