The Golf SE is our trim of choice this year, though it may not have much more than the base-spec model at the standard level, it gets access to an optional Driver Assistance Package, which is rather favorable. It upgrades the SE with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, high-beam control light assist, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, and a lane-keep assist system. Along with the larger infotainment touchscreen, it also gets an MP3/WMA-compatible CD player along with functionality in HD and SiriusXM radio connectivity. Luxury is bolstered by simulated leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof, too, making it a semi-premium compact offering at a decent price.
