The 2021 Golf is essentially identical to the 2020 Golf and is only offered in one trim level. You get a choice of either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission, with the latter adding $800 to your build cost. The power plant is a 1.4-liter turbo-four that generates a respectable 147 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, all of which is managed by the front wheels. Speaking of wheels, these measure 16 inches in diameter. Inside the cabin, V-Tex faux leather covers the seats, the front of which are heated and partially power-adjustable. There’s also a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get keyless entry with push-button ignition, a power-operated panoramic sunroof, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Safety features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, post-collision braking, and forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection.
