Nobody will feel short-changed when opting for the entry-level ID.4, because it comes standard with plenty of comfort and convenience features. Six-way manually adjustable and heated front seats welcome you into the ID.4, while the upholstery is in cloth with leatherette bolsters. There is ten-color ambient interior lighting. As standard, it has the same digital gauge cluster and 12-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as the more expensive models. The full suite of driver-assistance systems is of particular importance, running from lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control to blind-spot monitoring and forward-collision detection with emergency braking and pedestrian/cyclist detection. Automatic full-LED headlights with automatic high beams are standard as well, albeit not the adaptive type used higher up in the range. Affordable and well-equipped, there’s little to put a buyer off the base ID.4, unless they really want the bigger battery’s longer range or need available AWD.
