Ah, the mid-range Tiguan, and the new trim on the block for 2020. The SE R-Line Black is just enough to make you want a bit more. This model seems like bait from Volkswagen to climb another step up to the Tiguan SEL with, as the only main additions to be found here that previous models don't have, are the bigger 20-inch alloy wheels and park distance control. This model also gets a leather multifunction steering wheel with the R-badge as well as some exterior R-Line styling resulting in a sportier look, while a panoramic sunroof looks and feels premium, too. It’s the least appealing model to go for, though, as it neglects to offer a large number of extras compared to the model below it, and there is a very considerable jump in the price of this blacked-out styling exercise.
