The most expensive Tiguan is the SEL R-Line, but it’s also alone in getting standard AWD. Outside, illumination along the grille and 20-inch wheels announce this as the boss of the Tiguan range. Many interior features are exclusive to this model. It’s a long list but the highlights are leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a driver’s-seat memory system, power-adjustable seats for both front occupants, ventilated front seats, and a hands-free tailgate. The large 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster is standard here, as is navigation and a nine-speaker Fender sound system. Dynamic road sign display and an overhead camera system bolster an already generous safety suite.
