The Volvo S60 T8 is available in two basic trims, both sharing the same powertrain and output: The R-Design and Inscription, although a third is available in the limited-to-20 Polestar Engineered variant. Both variants are propelled by a pair of electric motors that supplement thrust from a turbo- and supercharged 2.0-liter four-pot, for a combined output of 400 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque, while the Polestar models gets 415 hp and 494 lb-ft. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is the only option, sending power to all four 18-inch wheels (19s on the Polestar).
A number of safety and convenience features are standard on both models, with the slightly more expensive Inscription trim having access to optional massaging front seats. The R-Design is the sportier of the two, bearing a bespoke set of seats and a unique steering wheel and gear-lever. The exterior is also characterized by gloss black accents, while the Inscription model is trimmed in genuine leather inside and features chrome accents on the exterior.
The Inscription model has access to a luxury package that adds massaging front seats for $2,200, while both trims can be specced with heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel for 750 bucks. 19-inch wheels cost $800 on either model, while an automatic parking system, that can operate if the parking space is at least 1.2 times the length of the car, is available for just $200. A Bowers & Wilkins 15-speaker sound system with an air-ventilated subwoofer is a masterpiece of sound engineering and is the most expensive option at $3,200.
