2023 S60 Safety

Safety reviews of the S60 returned excellent results, as is the norm for a car from the Swedish automaker. The NHTSA gave it an overall rating of five stars, with only the front passenger-side crash test receiving a lower four-star rating. 2023 S60 Key Safety Features

Volvo's excellent safety record is courtesy of a comprehensive suite of driver aids. All the standard mechanisms are in place, such as ABS, EBD, stability and traction control, and a set of seven airbags: dual front, driver knee, front side, and side curtain. Beyond this, every model comes standard with hill-start assist, lane-keep assist, rear park assist, a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and both forward and rear collision avoidance. This is upgraded with front park assist on the upper trims. The Ultimate and Polestar Engineered get the most advanced tech, including a surround-view camera and a head-up display.

2023 S60 Reliability

In its review of the Volvo S60, J.D. Power awarded the 2022 vehicle a respectable 75 out of 100, which included a 77 out of 100 score for reliability. However, the S60 has been recalled a few times over the years, and even the 2023 model has 3 recalls currently in effect. Reasons for these include a false warning message for the emergency call system, a loss of drive power, and a BCM2 diagnostic error that can lead to a loss of ABD and ESC.

In terms of the warranty, both the limited and powertrain plans are valid for four years/50,000 miles, while complimentary maintenance is offered for the first three years/36,000 miles. The hybrid models get eight years/100,000 miles of cover for their unique components.
