Gearheads are notoriously tricky to shop for because every gift comes a distant second to an actual car. That said, certain gifts carry outrageous price tags but for this year's holiday gift idea list we picked some more affordably priced options with a few dream gifts thrown in for good measure.

Be sure to check out our holiday gift guides from 2017 and 2016 too because many of our suggestions are still perfect for 2018.

CleverMade Trunk Caddy

Listening to the distinct knocking sound of objects rolling around in the trunk can be torturous. Organizing a trunk can also be tedious, which is why we recommend the Trunk Caddy by CleverMade. This handy storage unit can velcro down to the floor of a trunk, so it won't roll around when you go through turns. It also has integrated handles, so it's easy to carry with you when you reach your destination. When you no longer require storage in the trunk, the Trunk Caddy collapses so it's easy to store.

This gift is rather affordable, with a two-pack now available for just $34.99.

ImportBible Zip Ties And Shirts

Though it usually isn't a permanent solution, automotive enthusiasts have found amazing ways to fix their cars using zip ties. We've even seen entire bumpers sewn together using them. A company called ImportBible has embraced the hilarious nature of zip tie use with comically-labeled ties. Each tie bears a different catchphrase, such as "Fix U Later," "Heartbreaker," and "I'm Sorry." These zip ties make a great stocking stuffer at just $6.99 for a pack. ImportBible also sells a bunch of cool shirts, hats, stickers, and decals, all with cool car-themes.

The Complete Book of Pontiac GTO: Every Model Since 1964

When you walk into a car enthusiast's house, you may be overwhelmed by the number of car magazines stacked on the coffee table. We know we have hoarded our fair share of print magazines other the years. Though magazines can be interesting, they don't exactly look great lying there on the coffee table - they look more like they belong in a dentist's waiting room. Instead, why not rest The Complete Book of Pontiac GTO by Tom Glatch in the living room?

This hardcover book details the complete history of Pontiac's most popular sports car all the way from the original 1964 up to the rebadged Holden Monaro years until 2006. The book is full of high-quality pictures and stories and can be found for just $23.96.

Performance Driving School

Some people like to give experiences such as vacations instead of physical gifts. For the car enthusiast in your life, we suggest an all-expenses-paid performance driving school. These are schools where your loved one will be taught high-level performance driving techniques to make them a better driver. There are all different kinds of schools, including off-road schools like DirtFish in Snoqualmie, Washington, where you can race a Subaru WRX STI or BRZ. These programs can range from a few hours to a few days and can range in price from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand depending on how much you are willing to spend.

Design Epicentrum Lamborghini Desk

We did mention that some of our gift ideas would be of the dream variety, so here is our first entrant - a Lamborghini desk by a company called Design Epicentrum. This company specializes in building furniture that looks just like a high-dollar supercar. Each desk is made from fiberglass and is available in over 200 colors. Customers can even order working LED headlights for their desk. Unfortunately, they don't come cheap, starting at around $35,000. At least they are limited edition with only a 44-unit run.

Forza Horizon 4

Most car enthusiasts don't have the luxury of being able to drive any car they want. Luckily, video games like Forza Horizon 4 let enthusiasts live out their deepest automotive dreams. Horizon 4 is the latest installment to the Forza franchise, letting players drive over 450 cars through the epic back roads and villages of Britain. Forza Horizon 4 is available for Xbox One and PC starting at around $60 and can be purchased wherever video games are sold.

Supercar Calendar

When shopping for the holidays, it can be difficult to find a gift someone will actually use during the year. With 2019 fastly approaching, why not opt for a calendar? We found a Supercar Calendar for $16.42, or if the enthusiast in your life is more into older models, a Classic Car Calendar for just $10.74.
