Dodge Demon Prices Are Getting Way Out Of Control

And you thought $225,000 was way too much.

Yesterday we were tipped off about a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon for sale on eBay for $225,000 (UPDATE: it’s since been reduced to $159,900. Go figure). Thanks to a second tipster, however, we’ve been alerted that there are more Demons lurking around eBay with far higher asking prices. We’re talking supercar pricing territory here and it’s completely nuts. One 2018 Demon has a starting bid of $420,000, or a ‘Buy it Now’ price of $550,000. No bids have been placed as of this writing, which makes sense not only because of that price.

It’s a pretty sketchy ad, thanks to mostly stock images being used. The only non-stock photos show the car covered with the Demon-specific car cover. Like we said, sketchy. Next up is a Demon with a black exterior and red interior for $475,000. This time the photos are of the car itself, supposedly. It also has the Demon Crate option, so there’s that. And then there’s the Demon in Plum Crazy Pearlcoat (like yesterday’s Demon) for $500,000. There isn’t even an auction set up for this one, only an immediate purchase. We gotta say that none of this is really surprising to discover, but the fact that people are attempting to sell a Demon for up to nearly six times its original sticker price is downright bonkers. Or greedy. Take your pick. Both apply.

Scrolling through the many Dodge Demon eBay listings reveals the typical prices fall somewhere in between $118,000 and $160,000, depending on options. These figures can go up a little for ‘Buy it Now’ prices. Mileage is also generally low, which makes sense given all of the cars are brand new. We’re not directly implying those three half a million dollar Demons are scams, but something stinks here. No other Demon for sale breaks the $200k mark, so are these other Demons magical somehow? Scams perhaps, but magical? No way. Maybe the simplest explanation is that the sellers think they can price gouge and take advantage of desperate buyers. Hat tip to “3mc”
