Datsun

This is the tune job your 16-year-old self dreamed about.

We recently showed you the Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe thatADV.1 Wheels president and founder Jordan Swerdloff drives. Thewheelmaker has now revealed his new passion project, and it may just impress you morethan his souped-up Mercedes. That car was certainly no slouch in the performance department, but this is a 1978 Datsun 280Z, but it’s no ordinary classic. Swerdloff has modified it to push 799 horsepower on the street and over 1,000 horsepower on thetrack.

To see just how fast the 280Z is now, you'll need to watch it run a quarter mile. Skip to 1:10 to see it in action.

In a blog post on the company’s site the ADV.1 Wheels’president writes about how his first car was an ’83 280ZX Turbo 2x2. He endedup losing the car but fate brought him another many years (and dollars) later. Sobasically this 280Z is what would happen if you had unlimited funds to rebuildyour first car. What’s awesome is that the version you see here isn’t the final one. The final build will look like the rendering shown hereand will make its grand debut at the Festivals of Speed Event held by theDowntown Miami Museum at the end of April.
