Texas Armoring Corporation has been building custom bulletproof cars since the Seventies. Its clientele ranges from religious leaders and politicians to celebrities and royal families. So when the new Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 burst onto the scene, it was only a matter of time before the armored passenger vehicle supplier decided to offer buyers of the six-wheel-drive uber G-Wagon some added protection.

If you thought its $1,335,000 price tag would put off potential buyers then think again: the company has already stopped accepting pre-orders on the armored 6x6. Clearly there are people out there that fear being shot at. As after Texas Armoring is finished with the massive Merc, it will be impervious to AK-47, M16 and other rounds up to 7.62x63 mm (aka a 0.30-06 Springfield). While adding almost half-a-ton of weight, Texas Armoring hasn't messed with the 544-hp 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, so it may be a bit sluggish when trying to outrun terrorists and others wishing harm on its well-healed owners. Perhaps after taking it to Texas, a trip to Brabus may be in order to recalibrate its performance?
