This armored Rolls-Royce Cullinan can withstand two hand-grenades exploding simultaneously.
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is already one of the most prestigious SUVs in the world, and it shows with its starting price tag of $330,000. But if you're chauffeuring someone important in hostile locations and want extra protection from potential attacks, Klassen will sell you an armored Rolls-Royce Cullinan for nearly $1 million.
For that price, you get 360-degree armor protection. A unique overlap system is integrated into the door seals, offering CEN 1063 Level BR6 level armor protection. The ceiling and floor are also armored, protecting the SUV from the blast of two DM51 hand-grenades exploding simultaneously.
Other security measures include multi-layer bulletproof glass, protection for the battery and electronic control module, and reinforced door hinges and structure points. The armored SUV also rides on heavy-duty wheels. Klassen claims these extensive modifications make the armored Cullinan "the most luxurious and secure high-end SUV in the world."
Inside, Klassen allows clients to customize the cabin with "exclusive high-end materials", ambient LED lighting, and "advanced multimedia and audio systems. Emergency lights and a fire suppression system are also included. However, the exterior is designed to retain the SUV's stock appearance as closely as possible to avoid attracting unwanted attention.
Each armored Cullinan takes around three months to build. Klassen hasn't revealed any performance specifications for when you need to make a quick getaway from attacks, but we suspect the heavy armor will affect the acceleration.
Without any modifications, the stock Cullinan's 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 produces up to 592 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. In its range-topping Black Badge guise, 0-60 mph in the Cullinan takes less than five seconds. Unsurprisingly, adding armored protection to the Cullinan isn't cheap. Klassen is charging 833,000 euros - around $962,000 at current exchange rates. Klassen also offers a stretched version of the armored Cullinan costing $2 million.
