Original came priced at $174,000.
The most hardcore model in the progression from XK to XKR-S, the GT is a track-focused, street-legal version of Jag’s two-door coupe. Only 25 are earmarked for the US, so getting hold of one is not that easy. But a chance has arrived to own this unique Leaping Cat, with an example set to cross the Mecum auction block this week. The XKR-S GT can be identified by black-and-white paint scheme, if not by its front splitter, rear diffuser, big rear wing, various winglets and other carbon fiber bits, helping it generate 320 pounds of downforce.
It's also got a louvered hood, adjustable dampers, stiffer springs, adaptive exhaust, faster steering rack, wider front track, carbon-ceramic brakes (a first for Jaguar) and 20-inch alloys wrapped in low-profile Pirelli PZero Corsa tires. With a 550-hp supercharged V8 mated to a six-speed auto-box and electronic differential, the XKR-S GT can reach 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds and tops out at 186 mph - making it one of the quickest Jags since the famous XJ22. This particular example has just 311 miles on the clock. It cost the owner $174,000 to drive it out the showroom, and will likely cost the new owner even more to take it home from the Dallas auction.
