1,000-HP Hennessey Mammoth 1000 Is A Ram TRX On Steroids

Trucks / Comments

The "base" truck's 702 hp simply wasn't enough.

Hennessey Performance has just unveiled theMammoth 1000, a limited edition extreme high-performance version of the already potent Ram 1500 TRX. The Texas-based tuner's long list of modifications begins where the automaker left off. Rated at 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, the 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 remains, only it's been enhanced with a 2.65-liter supercharger system. Among other modifications are pulley upgrades, stainless steel long tube headers, a high-flow exhaust system, and a calibration upgrade.

Total output comes to an insane 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft of twist - a 310 hp and 319 lb-ft increase over the stock truck. Zero to 60 mph will take only 3.2 seconds, making it the fastest Ram truck Hennessey has ever customized.

Along with the powertrain enhancements, Hennessey's crew created the Mammoth Off-Road Stage 1 package that includes a 2.5-inch lift kit, LED lights, 20-inch ten-spoke wheels wrapped in 35-inch off-road tires, and a front suspension leveling system. There's also a retractable electronic bed cover to keep your rear cargo secure and electronic fold-out steps, which will come in handy with the increased ride height. There's no mention of any interior enhancements, though knowing Hennessey these will likely be limited to unique badging and embroidered seatbacks.

"The Ram 1500 TRX is exciting in stock configuration, but I'm seeking extraordinary," said Founder and CEO, John Hennessey. "The Mammoth 1000 upgrades completely transform this impressive pickup into something astonishingly powerful, visually exciting, and indisputably unique."

As expected, Texas-born craziness like this does not come cheap. Each turnkey truck will cost $135,650, not including delivery, and comes with a two-year, 24,000-mile warranty. Only 200 examples are planned for 2021 and each truck will come with the usual serial numbered plaques.

Hennessey made no mention of whether this will be a one model year only deal. So if you're interested, then it's highly advised you act fast. Deliveries will get underway this spring.
