Two years after the impressive prototype was unveiled, the production specification version of the Rimac C_Two will finally be revealed to the world next March at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Rimac has announced the production version will feature significant changes from the concept versions shown in 2018 and 2019, with an improved design, ergonomics, and performance. The production version will also have a new model name since C_Two stands for "Concept Two."

The Rimac C_Two is one of the world's most powerful and fastest all-electric hypercars, with four electric motors producing a combined 1,914 horsepower and 1,696 lb-ft of instant torque. Thanks to this setup and lightweight construction, the C_Two is capable of 0-62 mph in just 1.85 seconds and can hit a top speed of 258 mph, but the production version will have even better performance. Looks like Rimac will blow our minds all over again next March.

Potentially, it could be even more powerful than the 1,972-hp Lotus Evija, which is currently the world's most powerful production road car. Development of the C_Two is currently being finalized before production begins at the end of 2020.

After years of development and detailed computer simulations, the Rimac C_Two prototypes are being tested on tracks and in testing facilities around the world. We've already seen photos of a Rimac C_Two prototype being put through its paces at the Nardo Technical Center in Southern, which is one of the most challenging proving grounds in the world, but now we finally get to see it in action in a new video shared by the Croatian automaker showing the electric supercar prototype being tested in various different locations.

These tests will help Rimac further develop and finetune the components before pre-production starts in early 2020. In total, 17 prototypes will be made, each designed for different testing purposes from chassis rigidity to high-performance autonomous driving development. "We are working hard to shape this car exactly how we imagined it: a new breed of hypercar that unlocks extreme performance of the electric drivetrain and a new driving experience for the driver," said Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO, Rimac Automobili.

"At the same time, it will be a technical masterpiece from an engineering point of view. The C_Two will have a new driver feel, highly-communicative handling and first-class dynamics that will define our new car – we want this car to be intuitive and usable, yet sharp and capable. This process of testing and refinement is crucial to ensure we deliver on our promises – driving the C_Two will be something quite different."

More intense tests of the C_Two for global homologation will follow in the run-up to the production car's unveiling at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in March. Customer deliveries will then begin at the end of next year.
