1966 Corvette Vs. 2015 Toyota Camry Is The World's Most Absurd Car Comparison

Video

And yet it proves something very important.

Don’t take this comparison test as consumer buying advice. That’s not the point. There’s nearly a 50-year time difference between this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette and 2015 Toyota Camry. A lot has changed over the decades, but what hasn’t is our love for the way cars drive. The Camry is really nothing more than a personal transportation appliance; it’ll get you there and back home with ease but not with any real excitement. The C2 Vette is its polar opposite.

And yet, when compared directly against one another on the track and various other tests, their performance numbers aren’t all that different. So one could claim that a modern day Camry has literally the same performance specs as a classic Corvette. On paper that’s true, but sitting behind the wheel is a different reality entirely as Edmunds has clearly proven.
