2,500 HP Chevy V8 Intimidates From The Dyno

/ Comments

For starters, it's very, very loud.

The back story here is really pretty uncomplicated. Nelson Racing Engines were commissioned to build a racing engine out of a big block Chevy V8 for an Australian racing team. The 632 cu-in (10.35 liters) engine has two also-gigantic turbochargers bolted to it, and is put on the dyno for some testing. Even without being in a car, the insanity of this engine is obvious, as the whole stand shakes and the exhaust headers glow red.

There's a bit at the end about the engine creating a black whole. We don't get it either.
