Recent reports are saying that Land Rover has big plans for its 2011 Range Rover European edition. It's currently fitted with a 3.6-liter V8 diesel, but a recent report says that the 2011 Range Rover will be getting a new 4.4-liter V8 diesel engine with 308-horsepower and 516 lb ft of torque as a replacement. Better yet, Ford is said to be supplying the Range Rover with its new diesel engine from its Chihuahua engine plant.

As the economy slowed down, Ford scrapped producing the 4.4L diesel engine even though it passed all the emissions requirements for the US market. Good thing for them that diesel SUVs are still in demand and popular in the German and European markets, but American fans will have to wait if it'll arrive to the US.
