2011 Kia Sedona Gets Facelift and New Engine

Minivans have been in the news a lot lately, thanks in part to the large effort Toyota put forward in reintroducing its Swagger Wagon, the Sienna. Since the Toyota release, Honda has released its all-new Odyssey, and Nissan will be releasing the Quest in Los Angeles next week. Now for 2011 Kia's Sedona minivan comes with a modest facelift and engine upgrade.

The biggest upgrade is that the Sedan is now powered by Kia's 3.5-liter V6 with an output reaching 271 horsepower. Compared to the outgoing model, this represents a gain of 27 horses. Power now runs through a six-speed automatic transmission, and because the Sedona retains its front-wheel-drive-only setup, the Sienna remains as the only minivan to offer a four-wheel power choice. The exterior now wears Kia's new corporate grille, and LED turn signals have been added to the side mirrors. Besides those, there are no other major updates made to the 2011.
