Usually, a new car will already go on sale before a tuning firm has its way with it. The new CLS won't be arriving in dealerships before the end of January 2011, but the German tuning firm Carlsson has already unveiled its performance and styling program for the second generation vehicle. Carlsson has revamped the saloon's exterior with a comprehensive aerodynamics package that comprises of a restyled front bumper.

The bump also incorporates a lip spoiler and LED fog lights, side skirts, a rear apron, and a spoiler out back. Inside, the interior has benefitted from Carlsson's inclusion of an Alcantara sports sterring wheel, pedals and foot rest made of brushed aluminum, and unique floor mats. For performance, Carlsson offers upgrades for the CLS 350 CGI gas and 350 CDI V6 diesel models. With its CK35 KIT, the gas engine's output is increased to 333 hp, while the firm's C-Tronic Diesel Power electronic tune helped the diesel engine reach 320 hp.
