2011 Spanish Grand Prix

Formula 1

No surprises this year in Barcelona for the 2011 Spanish Grand Prix. Well, there was one surprise. Mark Webber broke his teammate Sebastian Vettel's qualifying streak, just squeaking into the pole position. The actual race results were slightly more predictable, with another win for Vettel putting him even more solidly in the lead for points. Lewis Hamilton took the predictable second place, with Jenson Button ultimately beating out Webber for third.

A fifth-place finish for Frenando Alonso keeps him pretty solidly in fifth place in points, and keeps Ferrari well ahead of most teams but still seriously trailing the big boys from Red Bull and McLaren. Next week will be what is considered by many to be the highlight of the season, the Monaco Grand Prix. Photos courtesy of Sutton Images.
