The 2011 Subaru Impreza five door hatchback has plenty of cargo space, a comfortable interior, and decent performance. It comes with standard all-wheel drive and is one of the most inexpensive cars on the market to do so. Like its sedan sibling, power comes in the form of two choice engines. One is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 170 horsepower, while the other is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that offers 224 horsepower.

The exterior is, unfortunately, a bit disappointing. When compared to other hatches on the market, the Impreza looks very plain. It's almost as if Subaru chose the most conservative design possible thinking that it actually looked good. Many agree that the sedan is the better looking vehicle between the two (but not by much). If Subaru wants their entry-level offering to be more competitive, then the exterior will have to be beefed up in the future. Subaru can't rely on their boxer engine and fulltime AWD being the Impreza's sole selling points.
