Volvo has begun offering a SUV that's equipped with a 4.4 liter Yamaha V8 engine, officially marking Volvo's launching of the mid-size crossover. The 2011 XC90 is also Volvo's first vehicle to be fitted with the Yamaha motor that makes 311 hp. The inline-six cylinder model offers 235-horsepower and it's offered with all-wheel-drive only. With an optional third row seating, the XC90 can fit up to seven comfortably, and the vehicle has been billed as the safest SUV on the market.
With exceptional rollover safety, the XC90 has a strong body structure and a number of other safety features. Passengers are protected by Volvo's Whiplash Protection System and inflatable curtain airbags that have been extended to protect passengers in the third row.
