Alpina has just made a triumphant return to international racing and with their new GT3 racing variant of the 2012 BMW B3, they hope their success will continue in the following year. The German tuning and racing company plans on producing only 99 units of this Porsche 911 GT3 rival. The BMW B3 GT3 is powered by a 402hp 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six engine. The tuned-up engine puts out 398 lb-ft of torque and allows for some solid performance figures, reaching 62mph from rest in 4.6 seconds and achieving a top speed of 186mph.

The engine is match to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. Alpina also added an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, which adds 8hp, saves weight and gives the Bimmer a more rugged exhaust note. The interior features a pair of Recaro racing seats fitted with Alcantara and leather. Racing livery from the B6 GT3 racer and green interior trim will be optional. It sits on a set of 20-spoke 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup rubbers. The Alpina BMW B3 GT3 will go on sale in spring 2012 and will be priced around (tax included) €90,000.
