Details taken direct from the dealer ordering guide of the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 are spreading on the internet like wildfire. First off, we've discovered the LSA supercharged 6.2-liter V8 delivering 580hp and 556lb-ft of torque will be connected with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission as standard with an option for a Hydra-Matic 6-speed automatic. Weighing in at 4,120 pounds, its longer and wider than the Shelby Mustang GT500, and has been given an aluminum hood with carbon-fiber "Mohawk" insert.

A unique lighting package includes dual fog lamps, separate daytime running lights and HD headlights with halo rings. A lower splitter will reduce lift and a larger, lower front grille opening will provide more cooling power. Two 20-inch wheel packages are on offer: a 10-spoke and 5-spoke wheel, the latter of which has a polished face and high-gloss clear-coat. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G2 tires complete with an extra bit of rubber overhanging the rim to prevent damage on curbs come as standard. The Camaro ZL1 will also sit lower than the Camaro SS, meaning drivers will have to exercise caution around high curbs.

Other details include a head-up display including shift lights, Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Track Management featuring five modes, Brembo brakes, and a choice of nine colors. Dealerships will be offering the ZL1 coupe early next year for an expected low-$50,000 price tag.
