Mazda has finally unveiled the MX-5 Miata Special Edition in Chicago.
Mazda has just revealed the latest special edition of the MX-5 Miata. This 2012 model will see only 450 units produced as the limited edition Power Retractable Hard Top will be available in the U.S. As previously reported on CarBuzz last weekend, the 2012 MX-5 Miata Special Edition runs on a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 167hp and 140 lb-ft of torque. In the U.S., it will be available with either Crystal White Pearl Mica or Velocity Red.
Japan and England will receive both colors along with a Spirited Green Metallic finish. The roof will remain black regardless of color choice along with several other black accents, including the mirrors. The MX-5 Miata special edition will run on a set of also blacked-out 17-inch gunmetal alloy wheels. The interior features plenty of black leather with contrasting gray stitching on the steering wheel, seats, door trim and parking brake. In addition, alloy pedals complete Mazda's touch-up work on the interior.
The 2012 Mazda MX-5 Miata Special Edition prices at $31,225 for the manual transmission and $31,675 with the six-speed automatic. It will arrive in dealerships by the end of this month. Mazda's latest special edition is currently on display at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.
