Mazda first debuted the next-generation Mazda5 in the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. Now the automaker has confirmed that the U.S. designer version will be revealed at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. Badged as a 2012 model, the U.S.-spec Mazda5 is pretty much indistinguishable from its European cousin in terms of appearance. Powering the minivan will be the same 157-horsepower, 2.5-liter inline-four that's in both the Mazda3 and Mazda6.

This vehicle will still be offered with a manual transmission in addition to the standard automatic. On a side note, in addition to the big reveal of the Mazda5, the automaker will also be bringing its Shinari concept to LA. We are very excited to see the next generation of Mazda styling language up close and personal.
