2013 Dodge Charger Sprint Cup Car Makes its Official Debut

Dodge has unveiled their 2013 Charger Nascar Sprint Cup car.

A few weeks ago we brought you leaked photos of the 2013 Dodge Charger Sprint Cup car and now we have the official shots of the Nascar-spec racer's debut. The racer looks very much like its street-spec sibling unlike its many generic-looking competitors. The Charger-esque looks come courtesy of several rule changes made by Nascar. A larger 'greenhouse' space along with lax restrictions on the front, sides and rear allow for more distinct styling lines.

"We know NASCAR fans are passionate about cars," said NASCAR President Mike Helton. "We're excited about the results of the collective efforts of NASCAR, Dodge and the other manufacturers to create the 2013 Sprint Cup cars. The 2013 Dodge Charger race car design is a great example of what we look forward to seeing on the race track next season. We thank Dodge and all the manufacturers for their efforts, as we see the results here today with the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Dodge Charger." Penske Racing has decided to quit Dodge and take the Ford Fusion into competition during the 2013 racing season.

It is unclear for now who will race the new 2013 Dodge Charger. As teams gear up for next year's competition, CarBuzz will bring you all the latest news.
