2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Spied Testing on the 'Ring

Spy Shots

The new four-wheel-drive Carrera models are due to hit US showrooms later this year.

These spy shots of the upcoming Porsche 911 Carrera 4S follow the news posted yesterday that the 4 and 4S Coupe and Cabriolet would be heading stateside imminently. From these photos, showing a 4S testing on the Nurburgring, you can see a slightly wider body than the RWD Carrera, while the reflective strip connecting the two rear lights that differentiates the Carrera 4 & 4S from the standard Carrera, has been covered by a yellow sticker in an attempt to fool onlookers and car spies.

Carrera 4 models will be powered by the same 3.4-liter flat-six found in the 2013 Carrera, with 350hp and 287lb-ft of torque at their disposal. The Carrera 4S gets the Carrera S' 3.8-liter flat-six, which is good for 400hp and 325lb-ft of torque. Pricing details will come closer to launch, which is expected some time in the next couple of months.
