Few cars can get enthusiasts salivating quite like the Porsche 911 GT3, and with the new model set to debut shortly, speculation has been mounting over what form of transmission the next GT3 will pack. The hardcore version of Germany's iconic sportscar has typically been available only with a traditional three-pedal manual gearbox, but we're told to expect a PDK dual-clutch version for the next model. The jury's still out, however, on whether the PDK will be the only option available, or whether buyers will be able to opt for the manual as well.

While we wait for confirmation, this spy video portrays what seems to be a PDK-equipped GT3 undergoing development work at the Nurburgring. The track-tuned 911 is tipped to drop a good 65-90 kg from the outgoing model, with a 480-horsepower version of the 911's 3.8-liter flat six.
