2013 Scion tC Release Series 8.0 is a Serious Car on a Budget


Scion’s latest sports coupe is quite the sporty car.

Toyota's sub-brand Scion has a new sporty little coupe that looks good and runs great for those on a budget. The 2013 Scion tC Release Series 8.0 features a five-piece body kit designed by Troy Sumitomo of tuning firm Five Axis along with some new features for a unique ride experience. Starting on the exterior, the five-piece tuning kit includes new front and rear lower valences, side skirts and a rear spoiler.

An Absolutely Red exterior finish contrasts brilliantly with gloss black side mirrors and also black 18-inch alloy wheels. Toyota Racing Development has also added their input on the RS 8.0 with lowering springs and a new exhaust integrated into the rear lower valence.

The interior utilizes sporty seats with a similar-to-the-exterior black and red fabric and stitching theme. A leather-wrapped race-inspired steering wheel with paddle shifters further denotes this new model as a special edition. As a quick refresher, it utilizes a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 180 horsepower and 173 pound-feet of torque. It can reach 60mph from rest in 7.4 seconds. Set for a limited run of only 2,000 units, the 2013 Scion tC RS 8.0 will go on sale for $21,815 with a six-speed manual gearbox and $22,865 with the six-speed automatic.
