Under the stewardship of former VW boss Stefan Jacoby Volvo, the Swedish brand is looking to take on its German rivals such as the Golf and even the BMW 1-Series with their upcoming V40, a 5-door hatch set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Volvo's latest offering in the form of the S60 has helped the (dare we say) luxury brand to appeal to the masses and the V40, which seems to be replacing the C30, S40 and V50 in one fell swoop, is looking to have the same desired effect.

Gothenburg is simply teasing us with this veiled glimpse of their Audi A3 competitor but once the rumor mill starts churning, official photos and specs will come soon enough.
