In the wake of the 24 Hours of Nurburgring race, Acura has begun testing the next generation of their 2014 MDX on public roads near the famed German racetrack. It was wearing some heavy camouflage, as Acura doesn't want to give away any clues as to what exactly the new model will look like. The new MDX will share the powertrains with the RLX, so we assume styling will carry over a bit as well. In terms of power, however, it will utilize two different engines.

A standard 300hp 3.5-liter V6 engine with direct injection is the first option while the second will be a new hybrid model. The latter features the NSX supercar-sourced Acura Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive system. The 2014 Acura MDX should hit showroom floors towards the end of 2013 as a 2014 model.
