2014 Cadillac ELR Convertible Coming from NCE

Special Edition

Limited edition drop-top ELR preparing for the California (and Dubai) sunshine.

While Cadillac recently killed any hopes of a high-performance ELR-V version of its hybrid ELR model, California company Newport Convertible Engineering has just announced that it will build a limited edition convertible version of the car. NCE, which has already churned out unique drop-top models of cars like the Porsche Cayenne, Cadillac Escalade and an upcoming Nissan GT-R convertible, says it will market the convertible ELR in California, Barcelona and Dubai.

With stock models of the hybrid ELR starting at $75,000, the drop-top version is expected to be as expensive as it is rare. Still, it will be quite the looker, and will continue to offer the same 207-horsepower electric motor and 3.6-liter V6.
