We knew a year ago that the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang was on its way. What we didn't know was that Dodge was simultaneously putting the finishing touches on its ultimate, Death Star-like weapon: the 707 horsepower supercharged Hellcat V8. That sucker was tucked under the hood of the Challenger and Charger. And then there was Chevrolet, who revealed the Camaro Z/28, recently crowned the best driver's car of the year by Motor Trend. And to finish the year off right, Ford revealed the Shelby GT350 Mustang.

Combine that with the Challenger Hellcat and Z/28 and you've got 1,700+ hp. What an awesome year. Is it possible that 2014 was the best year for American muscle cars in decades? Perhaps ever? Here's to automakers outdoing themselves in 2015.
