Available in eight trim levels.
Dodge has revealed the 2015 Challenger at the New York Auto Show, announcing the refreshed model is available in eight different trims: SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, 6.4-liter Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker. All boast refreshed styling inspired by the 1971 Challenger, an upgraded suspension, plusher interiors and an optional TorqueFlite eight-speed auto.
The final two variants are the most powerful, sporting a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 rated at 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. When mated to the new eight-speeder, 0-60 mph is clocked in the mid fours, the quarter mile in the low twelves, with top speed a claimed 182 mph. They also come with Brembo brakes and 20-inch alloys. The SXT and SXT Plus entry level models come with Chrysler’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that’s capped at 305 hp, while the rest of the range gets a 5.7-liter HEMI good for 375 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. The 2015 Challenger is distinguished from the outgoing model by a new split grille, LED DRLs, revised taillights, and a more pronounced hood bulge.
The interior sports a high-sill center console, aluminum bezels and driver-focused instrument panel. New color and trim options include classic Houndstooth. Handling has been improved thanks to an electronic steering system with three adjustment levels, a vehicle dynamics adjustment system and Super Track Pack suspension upgrade. The new Challenger also benefits from the latest tech, including Chrysler’s Uconnect Access infotainment system complete with 8.4-inch touchscreen, while a 7-inch screen is located in the main instrument cluster. New safety features include adaptive cruise control and backup camera. The 2015 Dodge Challenger will go on sale this fall.
