Is it thirstier than the outgoing model?
Without a doubt it is one of the most anticipated new cars for the coming year. The 2015 Ford Mustang has some big shoes to fill as well as a proud and iconic legacy to uphold. From looks alone, inside and out, the new Mustang is a winner. The engine lineup is also wonderful. But what about fuel economy? This is, after all, a major issue in today's auto industry. Mustang6.com has just revealed a leaked EPA document that details some official fuel figures, but not for the V8 'Stang.
The new Mustang V6, for example, with the automatic transmission returns 19/28 mpg city/highway. The 2014 Mustang V6 auto, for a direct comparison, does 19/31 mpg city/highway. Interesting. The 2015 V6 with a six-speed manual gets 17/28 mpg city highway. The EcoBoost turbo four paired to the manual returns 22/31 mpg city/highway. A Ford spokesperson made clear that the company won't comment on these numbers until the EPA officially releases them.
