Meet the all-new 2015 Lexus RC F, the V8-powered muscle coupe that's here to make life hard for the BMW M4. Yes, BMW should be on red alert here. Just a few days ahead of Detroit, Lexus has released the first details and photos online of its highly anticipated RC F. It may just be the most badass mainstream Lexus ever. Based off the also new RC coupe, the RC F swaps out the former's V6 for a 5.0-liter V8 with well above 450 horsepower.

Exterior styling has also been treated to an overdose of steroids, notably those front side vents, an active rear wing, cooling ducts and plenty of carbon-fiber components. Lexus calls it "functional beauty."

The familiar spindle front grille is also present, with a single F mesh section that extends all the way from the hood line to the lower lip. Also note the hood is actually a bit higher than that on the RC for the purpose of creating a more unique and powerful look. And yes, there a few design cues taken directly from the now retired LFA. Three variations of 10-spoke, 19" forged aluminum wheel designs will also be on offer. The interior, like that of the RC, is quite supercar-like, and the RC F comes with its own unique steering wheel, seats, trim detailing and pedals. Lexus is promising full details and power specs early next week at Detroit. Stay tuned.
