A more upscale look for the smaller SUV.
Small SUVs are hot right now, and automakers are realizing that there is money to be made by not treating them like consolation prizes from those who can't afford a big SUV. So the new Hyundai Tucson, which will be hitting dealerships sometime in the second half of this year, has gotten a more upscale look. First off, the exterior styling now more closely resembles that of the bigger Santa Fe, and comes with more chrome and new LED headlights.
The interior comes with more soft-touch materials, and features a bigger touchscreen display for the infotainment system. There is a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats and a power tailgate. A range of engines are offered, offering between 115PS and 184PS. That said, this is officially only the European-spec model, and powertrain options often change when vehicles move across the pond. Transmission options may remain unchanged though, and there are six-speeds available in both manual and automatic, alongside a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. See the next page for a video.
The video here shows the styling, both inside and out, for the new car, and we have to say that we like it.
