A rambling Matthew McConaughey ad is inevitable.
Word has it that this leak was accidental as opposed to being purposefully done by Lincoln. No matter, what this is is the 2016 Lincoln MKX crossover, the so-called big brother to the smaller, Ford Escape-based MKC. Previewed back in April of last year by the MKX concept, the production-spec MKX really doesn't look all that much different. Lincoln claims its new CUV is "Inspired by airplane design" and we're really digging the overall exterior look here.
Of particular interest is a Panoramic Vista Roof, hands-free power liftgate and even a 360-degree camera mounted behind the Lincoln front-grille emblem. Note the wraparound taillights and dual exhaust. The interior is really quite something, with plenty of wood trim and plush leather upholstery. The instrument cluster has something of a "floating" design and tech bits such as MyLincoln Touch and Sync 3 are likely standard fare. Like its Ford Edge platform mate, the MKX will very likely be powered by a twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 making 300 horsepower. A six-speed automatic is also expected. We're waiting for additional photos and details to come in from Lincoln at any moment.
